Procedures for Establishment of Billed Telecommunications Services, Cancellation and Documentation

The Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), pursuant to Article Three of  the Telecommunications Act and its Bylaw and after reviewing the study conducted by CITC to simplify the procedures for establishing billed telecommunications services (Fixed and Mobile), cancellation, and documentation,
and in the Public Interest.

Hereby decides as follows
Article One
When establishing billed telecommunications services (Fixed and Mobile) for the first time, the Applicant requesting the service or his authorized  representative must come to the Subscriptions Office of the respective Service Provider to document his application as per the CITC regulations. For additional service requests for the same applicant, verification of the identity of the applicant and application documentation will suffice.
Article Two
When cancelling billed telecommunications services (Fixed and Mobile) , the Applicant requesting the service or his authorized  representative must come to the Subscriptions Office of the respective Service Provider to document his cancellation application. The service provider must then provide a written or electronic notice to the Subscriber confirming his cancellation request and its date, and that the Subscriber will not bear any fees after that date.
Article Three
When the Subscriber pays the fees owed to billed telecommunications services (Fixed and Mobile), the service provider must issue a written or electronic settlement document to prove it.
Article Four
The service provider must enable  the subscriber to cancel the value-added services by contacting the customer service center, or by SMS, or email, or any other electronic means. The subscriber  must not be obliged to come to the Subscription Office. The Service Provider must then provide the subscriber with an acknowledgement of receipt of his service cancellation application and that starting from that date, the subscriber will not bear any fees.
Article Five
This decision must be communicated to all parties concerned to act accordingly two month from the decision issuance date.
