The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), chaired the first regional prep meeting for the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-21).
With more than 300 participants from member states and the private sector, the WTDC-21 aims to promote discussions among the six ITU regions (Arab States, Americas, Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Commonwealth countries, and Europe) to identify common interests and agree on key issues.
During the meeting, the head of the Arab team, General Manager of International Affairs at CITC, Eng. Mansour Al-Qurashi, pointed out the importance of joining efforts between regions to support developing countries and implement innovative and sustainable solutions for most pressing ICT-related issues.
The regional prep meetings for the WTDC-21 seek to identify priorities and formulate regional initiatives, prior to participating in the conference, which will take place in the Republic of Ethiopia.
