The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) issued the “Meqyas " report for the first quarter of 2021, the quarterly report which includes indicators of Internet speed and speed of access to digital content on social media and video conferencing platforms.

The report findings showed Etihad Etisalat Company Mobily for the best speed of access to the content of the social networking application (Snapchat) while Zain company recorded the best speed of access to (Twitter) and STC, Zain and Mobily shared the first place for access to  (Facebook, Instag ram).

According to the report, Zain also achieved the highest level of quality for video broadcasting via fixed internet on (YouTube), with a success rate of 99.87% compared to other service providers. Mobily and Salam came second while STC came last.

The report also showed Mobily on top of the list for access speed of most frequently used video conferencing applications in the Kingdom: (Zoom, Microsoft teams , and Webex). While STC preformed the best when it comes to the video conferencing application (Google Meet).

Through the “Meqyas" report, CITC sheds light on internet speeds in the Kingdom and the performance of service providers, in an effort to identify possible improvements, improve the quality of Internet services and enhance competitiveness between service providers. ​
