The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) published its 'Game Mode' report for the Q3 of 2021. The report unveils the overall latency performance of telecom companies within fixed, mobile and 5G networks.

Local telecom company Salam topped the list of average response times for fixed network average latency category with 10 milliseconds with Mobily a close second at 11 milliseconds, Saudi Telecom Company (STC) at 21 milliseconds, Zain with 28 milliseconds, while (Etihad Altheeb Telecom) also known as GO came last  with 29 milliseconds. The total national average was 19 milliseconds.

Mobily led the average latency on mobile internet service with 31 milliseconds, followed by Zain with 32 milliseconds and STC came in third with 36 milliseconds. The total national average was 34 milliseconds.

Mobily also led the fastest 5G average network latency category with 23 milliseconds, closely followed by Zain with 24 milliseconds, and STC with 28 milliseconds. The total national average was 26 milliseconds.

The report​ also ranked the top service providers for mobile internet latency in all of the Kingdom's 13 regions. Mobily outperformed other service providers in the Eastern Province, Qassim, Asir, Makkah, Baha, and Northern Borders regions. STC led in Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and Najran regions, while Zain ranked first in the Riyadh, Madinah, Hail, and Jazan regions.
