The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) announced the launch of "Tahfeez," a program aiming to support the development of the emerging Saudi IT sector and address the shortage in the supply of locally-sourced IT products and services. "Tahfeez" will pay particular attention to small- and medium-sized IT enterprises, providing them with consultation and supporting them in their efforts to mature. The program seeks to help build up the local IT industry and to help develop national IT companies that will significantly drive the growth of and employment in the IT sector in Saudi Arabia. Participating companies can expect to receive several benefits, including direct coaching on how to improve their businesses, networking opportunities with peer companies, potential partners, customers, and investors, as well as free access to relevant knowledge about the industry.
