  1. Introduction
Recognizing the importance of protecting the public and workers from possible adverse health effects of exposure to radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic fields emitted from telecommunications and broadcast equipments and devices, the CITC is developing Regulations under the Telecommunications Act entitled " National Guidelines for Human Exposure to Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Fields". The National Guidelines establish minimum requirements for the protection of the public and workers from risks to their health arising or likely to arise from their exposure to RF fields in the frequency range 3 kHz to 300 GHz.
The public consultation consist of this document and three attachments. Attachments 1 and 2 give a summary of the National Guidelines (in Arabic and English) and include an explanation of the principles and concepts used to develop the Guidelines. Attachment 3 provides the full text of the proposed National Guidelines with questions to facilitate public response.

CITC particularly encourages parties involved with any aspect of the development of telecommunications and radio broadcast infrastructure, health protection policies for RF fields and standards setting to provide detailed comments, supported by appropriate justifications, on the issues raised in this public consultation document.
